Dust (WARNING: May Contain Some Disturbing Content) (NOTE: Song Written About My Feelings On The Earth Today)

Have you ever seen a blind man cry,
Or a pretty thing that’s just caught your eye?
Have you ever smelt freshly baked bread,
Or seen the sunset turn to red?

The news comes on, and what do you see?
Another killer on a murder spree.

What the hell is wrong with us?
Why do we urge to stain the dust?

Harmony and Peace are gone,
Along with all the sweeter songs.

Have you ever heard a bird’s morning call,
Or a child kicking their new football?
Have you ever felt the sea air on your face,
Or gulped cold water after running a race?
Or maybe you’ve tasted the scent of fear?
Probably, the air’s ripe with it here.

What the hell is wrong with us?
Why do we urge to stain the dust?

Harmony and Peace are gone,
Along with all the sweeter songs.

Bang bang, another gun,
Huff puff, he’s on the run.
Police get there, but much too late,
Another life is claimed by fate.
Stab stab, found its mark,
Another death in the park.

They say humans are animals,
Well guess what? We are.
But if you look closer,
Animals act better by far.
They mooch about, just having fun,
But then a hunter with a gun,
Come slashing in, and heres a hint,
Another species is now extinct.

A child cries, its eyes are wide,
The panic rising up inside.
A chair, a table, a shout, a fist,
I’m hoping you now get the gist.

What the hell is wrong with us?
Why do we urge to stain the dust?
