Teenage Years (Heartaches and Loser Mates) (The Words In Brackets Below Are Subsitute Depending On Radio Edit Or Album Version)

Your thirteenth birthdays here at last,
But you’ll soon wish it was the past.
Cause it all goes downhill from here.

Music styles changing and your mouthing off to dad,
Your school report is crummy and you can’t help acting bad.
But they still don’t understand.

Being a teenager sucks like hell,
Has anyone in history actually done it well.
We have heartaches,
And (sh*t) loser mates,
And stupid exams to decide our fates.
And all the adults seem to have forgotten the word ‘fair’.

The old man on the bus thinks your dirt on his shoe,
Does anyone actually see the real you?
You’d think they’d look deep enough to tell.

You boyfriend just cheated on you so you kiss a girl,
And find out there are far more worse things in the world,
But your family and friends think its sick.

Being a teenager sucks like hell,
Has anyone in history actually done it well.
We have heartaches,
And (sh*t) loser mates,
And stupid exams to decide our fates.
And all the adults seem to have forgotten the word ‘fair’.

Your little brothers got it good,
You’re sleeping far later than you should.
Your face is covered in spots and gunk,
Your bedroom is full of childish junk.
Parents say you should get a job,
Your hanging round with the local yobs.

Being a teenager sucks like hell,
Has anyone in history actually done it well.
We have heartaches,
And (sh*t) loser mates,
And stupid exams to decide our fates.
And all the adults seem to have forgotten the word ‘fair’.

Teenage years turned out much worse than they should,
But guess what, next step is adulthood,
Babe, you think you’ve got it bad,
But give it a few years and you’ll be glad,
Of all those heartaches and (sh*t) loser mates.
