Rainbow (A Random Song About A Random Love That Doesn't Last)

Blue is the colour of bluebirds,
And the colour of the cold and the sky.
And the reflection that I see when I look in the lake,
The colour of the kingfishers dive.

Red is the colour of fury,
And danger and the pit of hell’s fire.
And the colour of the love that I’ve long felt for you,
The object of my hearts true desire.

You’re a rainbow smile,
That shines through the day,
Letting me know I’m secure.
You light up my heart,
And forever you’ll stay,
But you’re there, wonderful and pure.

Green is the colour of jealousy,
And the grass as we walked through the park.
It’s the colour of the trees in the depth of the wood,
And the emeralds that shine in the dark.

Gold is the colour of happiness,
And the burning shine of the sun.
Silver is the colour of the stars up above,
That lets you know night has begun.

You’re a rainbow smile,
That shines through the day,
Letting me know I’m secure.
You light up my heart,
And forever you’ll stay,
But you’re there, wonderful and pure.

Pink is the colour of safety,
And the icing on my birthday cake.
It’s the colour of my dreams as you lie by my side,
Please be there when I wake.

Purple is similar to pink,
But it signifies the life and the home.
Together we can fill up these walls,
With pleasure in our solidified dome.

You were a rainbow smile,
That shined through the day,
Letting me know I was secure.
You lit up my heart,
Yet you didn’t stay,
And know pain is what I have to endure.

Black is the colour of darkness,
And the emptiness filling my soul.
It’s the colour of death and the ending of things,
Black is the colour of coal.

Black is the colour that is all I see now,
Now you’ve left and I’m all alone.
I watched you for years as I drowned in my fears,
But now all I had is gone.
