Lavada (For My Best Friend. Lavada Means My Dear Friend)

My phone vibrates,
Another text from you,
Saying how your life is sh*t,
And you can’t make it through.

I sigh and get comfy,
Damn, here we go again
I try so hard to convince you,
Not to split a vein.

You shake your head,
And stamp your feet,
Can’t wait for death,
Can’t wait to cheat.

So basically,
Lavada,
Each day it gets harder,
Just to talk to you
To make a break through
And make life seem all right again.
To bring the sunshine
And light up your skies
And spread through your window
And dry the tears in your eyes.

Please slap on a smile and wipe away that frown,
Cos babe your turning my life upside down,
You should count your blessings,
I know I count you twice,
And you should be grateful
You’re escaping fates dice.

I manage to put it off
For at least another day
But I know that it’s never the end
And you’ve got plenty more to say

Next day, sure enough,
Another text from you,
‘I’m gunna end it tonight,
Theres nothing you can do’

So I beg and I plead,
I try to make you see,
That your life is worth living,
You just have to agree.

And basically,
Lavada,
Each day it gets harder,
Just to talk to you
To make a break through
And make life seem all right again.
To bring the sunshine
And light up your skies
And spread through your window
And dry the tears in your eyes.

Please slap on a smile and wipe away that frown,
Cos babe your turning my life upside down,
You should count your blessings,
I know I count you twice,
And you should be grateful
You’re escaping fates dice.

I love you to pieces,
And babe I always will,
But you break my heart a little,
With every new cut or pill.

You need to stop seeing,
The world in that dark light,
Everyone’s life would be easier,
If you refused to fight.

The world is your home,
And this life is your very own.
So back off, calm down,
Watch yourself grow.

See, when you do,
Lavada,
Every day will get harder,
But you need to persue,
To make a break through
And make life seem all right again.
To bring the sunshine
And light up your skies
And spread through your window
And dry the tears in your eyes.

So slap on a smile and wipe away that frown,
Cos babe your turning your life upside down,
Go on and count your blessings,
I know I count you twice,
And you should stop screaming enough
To take my advice
